釜：cauldron
底：bottom
抽：to draw out; to pull out
薪：firewood
Literally:
Take away the firewood under the cooking pot
Meaning:
1. take a drastic measure to deal with a situation
2. pull the rug from under sb
Example:
我們必須釜底抽薪，才能根本解決這個問題。
wǒ mén bì xū fŭ dǐ chōu xīn ，cái néng gēn běn jiě jué zhèi ge wèn tí 。
